Although all the members of “Queen” took an active part in writing songs, Mercury’s writing was the dominant and most unique, showing the influence of a variety of different sources, like classical music with a touch of individuality melody, harmony, orchestration complicated and hard rock.
In number of popular and well-made tunes, Mercury provided all the voices channels, reflected in a polished musical balance, which was unprecedented at the time.
“Queen” got its characteristic musical style when Mercury began using repeated recordings of voices ("doubling" sound) seriously ( in the second album, Queen II, which included only the music of Mercury on the other side of the record). Many listeners identify the “Bohemian Rhapsody” as the musical pinnacle achievement (although you can find the roots of it in works of earlier and less known tunes, such as "My Fairy King", "The March Of The Black Queen" and many others written by Mercury) .
